Subitems

Organize costs by breaking down complex budget items into smaller, trackable components.

Updated over a week ago

The Subitems feature allows planners to manage budgets with greater granularity by breaking down complex budget items into smaller, individual subitems.

This is especially useful for organizing costs under broader budget categories or groups, while still maintaining clarity and detailed control.

How to create a subitem

Subitems are created under budget items at the event level.

To create a subitem, click the three-dot contextual menu next to the item you want to add a subitem to, then select the Add sub-item option.

Subitem behavior

Once a subitem is created, the parent item becomes a group label only, displaying just the description - without pricing, vendor, or other attributes.

The newly created subitem inherits key attributes from its parent item, allowing you to manage each subitem independently.

Subitems are included in the total value of their parent item or group:

  • Collapsed view: The group displays a single summed-up price, including all subitems

  • Expanded view: You’ll see a detailed breakdown of each subitem and its individual values
